Really enjoyed the article, been thinking about this lately when flying to Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.

That with out instruments, compass or even Google maps that my orientation is opposite when I’m below the Equator.

It is good that the sun comes up and gives me a reference for east and west so then I can tell which way is south and north.

Was wondering if you'd recommend this trip even if you've never seen other (more famous) parts of Italy. I'm going on a trip there next week--it'll be my first trip to Italy, but I'm on a very limited time schedule. Not sure if I'll have much time to make it to the coast, but if it's a must-see, then I'll try to find time. Thanks for the info!

We visited Namibia in July of 2012, and what an amazing, but also relatively rough trip!We travelled from Windhoek to Etosha, to Epupa Falls to the famous, but very desolate Kaokoland, where we camped in the middle of nowhere, with no facilities for 3 nights. Hereafter we returned to civilization including Swakopmund, Sossusvlei and lastly we re-entered South Africa through the Kgalagadi National Park. A trip worth recommending to all!And I agree, Namibia is one treasure of Africa, that lots of people still have to explore and enjoy!
