The Gare Saint-Lazare is one of the six largest train stations in Paris, France. It is the second busiest train station in Paris and serves long distance routes towards Normandy as well as regional trains to the western suburbs of Paris. It transits over 400,000 travelers a day. The first station at Saint-Lazare was 150 meters northwest of its current location and was called Embarcadere des Batignolles. The station opened on August 24, 1837 and was opened by the wife of Louis-Phillipe of France, Marie-Amelie.
